The day gecko is surely one of the most colorful and for fans most interesting specie among all geckos. There is hardly a color you can't find among day geckos, the color chart extends from green, red, yellow and blue to violett and you can see many different designs. Apart from that, they are pretty popular with breeders for being - in contrast to all the other gecko species - day active and busy with the exploration of their environment all the time. Another speciality is, that they like fruit and nectar very much and so they are important for the distribution of the seeds, which is mostly typical for birds. Apart from their colorful hue, this is another reason why they're often called "hummingbirds among geckos".
