Country of origin

Day geckos can mainly be found on the islands on the East coast of Africa, for example Madagascar , Comoros , Seychelles , Mauritius and some other islands in this area. One exception is a specie, which lives in South Africa. Most of the species can be found on Madagascar itself, for example the biggest known specie, Phelsuma madagascariensis.
