Food

The main part of the food consists of insects and other invertebrate animals like crickets, scrapes, wax mothes and flour worms. Bui you should pay attention to the fact, that each specie has its own favourite food and that some insects aren't so well for certain species. Young day geckos for example like drosophila (which aren't able to fly), because the unskilled young animals can hunt them easily. Wax mades have a ralatively high fat content, so that these could make your day gecko fat and ill, if it gets too much of them. A good additional food is fruit, also as mash as you can buy it for babies. If you keep geckos at home, it is important to spray vitamin and mineral powder on the food regularly, so that your animals don't get deficiency symptoms.
